A rather special from group nDn appeared tonight on the scene topsites: an unknown version of action movie Hancock. The quality is similar to latest R5 rip which offered a very watchable image but quite bad audio. It looks like a PDVD, which is a bootlegged DVD, usually made from telesync or silver. The last few minutes of the movie are heavily pixelated though, to the extent of being almost unwatchable. If you’ve seen the R5 version already, there’s no need to redownloaded this one, otherwise see a sample and decide for yourself. The new audio might be worth it.

John Hancock (Will Smith) is an unhappy and reluctant superhero who is living in his own world. For some unknown reason, Hancock is depressed and has started drinking very heavily. He has saved many lives in Los Angeles over the years, but in doing so, he has no regards for damaging buildings, trains, roads, cars, or anything that gets in his way of getting the job done. The last time he captured several criminals, it cost the city $9 million to fix the damages. The public has had enough of Hancock, and they want him to stop or go to another city. Then one day, Hancock saves the life of Ray Embrey (Jason Bateman) from being run over by a train. Ray is a public relations executive who now can go home to his wife and child, because Hancock was there. Ray owes Hancock his life, and he makes it his mission to change his superhero’s image and have the public cheering him. Ray’s wife, Mary (Charlize Theron), believes Hancock cannot be fixed, and she doesn’t want Ray to be hurt.

NEPTUNE is back with a VHS screener, this time it’s Speed Racer. The R5 is said to be released near the end of the month, but you can’t really trust those dates always, so here is a fullscreen VHS screener for now. Quality for this release is decent for a VHS screener and from what I can tell there does not seem to be any interlacing problems. Audio is very clear but does have a very slight background crackle to it.

Plot: The story begins with Speed Racer who is a young man with natural racing instincts whose goal is to win The Crucible, a cross-country car racing rally that took the life of his older brother, Rex Racer. Speed is loyal to the family business, run by his parents Pops and Mom. Pops designed Speed’s car, the Mach 5. The owner of Royalton Industries makes Speed a lucrative offer, Speed rejects the offer, angering the owner. Speed also uncovers a secret that top corporate interests, including Royalton, are fixing races and cheating to gain profit. With the offer to Speed denied, Royalton wants to ensure that Speed will not win races. Speed finds support from his parents and his girlfriend Trixie and enters The Crucible in a partnership with his one-time rival, Racer X, seeking to rescue his family’s business and the racing sport itself.

There isn’t much to write about right now apart from few TV releases which were summarized in our TV roundup so I’ll cover this VHS screener of a fairly decent thriller The Life Before Her Eyes. The main reason why someone would decide to download this flick is probably Uma Thurman in the main role, who still look awesomely hot in her 37 years. According to few reviews I read through, it’s not a bad movie at all, filmed with $8m budget. The quality of this screener is decent as well, considering it’s from VHS tape, but the audio could be better.

Neptune brought us this fine release. Much better picture & audio quality than in Cam rip… of course . The Ruins are directed by Carter Smith & written by Scott B.
