Watching the fan-freaking-tastic opening ceremonies in 720p was truly amazing. I have expressed my interest in posting all Olympic scene releases for the 2008 Beijing summer games. The latest releases are below, with some comments. I would like to ask for the 720p tv groups especially to try and pre some Olympic events - it would be much appreciated. If I am not available to post further daily roundups, another editor will step in.

They claim ORENJi’s release was cut short at 3:28, and missed some ’scenes and other footage’. Their version goes to 4:12. ORENJi’s release was without glitches, so I advise if you have the other 720p rls and have not watched it to not try and find the proper version as it’s not worth all the bandwidth for extra 40 minutes.

Ok, sorry for posting this one way after the pre time, but you know how it goes -better late than never. Anyway it’s DVD screener of the “Made of Honor” released by COCAIN group. Quality is same as you would expect it from usual DVDRiP, only difference is - this one have small blurred property watermark at the bottom of the screen.

Plot: Made of Honor revolves around Tom and Claire, who have been platonic friends for 10 years. He’s a serial dater, while she wants marriage but hasn’t found Mr. Right. Just as Tom is starting to think that he is relationship material after all, Claire gets engaged. When she asks Tom to be her “maid” of honor, he reluctantly agrees just so he can attempt to stop the wedding and woo her.

These OPTiC guys keeps on rocking with new releases, and all good ones. Here’s another one - TS copy of “Step Brothers”. Release quality is on watchable level, at least looks to me. Well, check it and decide for yourself.

Plot: Brennan Huff (Will Ferrell) is a thirty-nine-year-old who has never left home and lives with his divorced mother, Nancy Huff (Mary Steenburgen). Dale Doback (John C. Reilly) is a forty-year-old who also has never left home and lives with his widower father, Dr. Robert Doback (Richard Jenkins). Both of them are unemployed and have been living off the goodness of their parents their whole lives. Nancy meets Robert; they fall in love, marry, and move into Robert’s home. The two sons are forced to live together in the same room as step brothers. Brennan and Dale initially hate each other, but find out that they are not too different. They are like 12-year-olds trapped in adult bodies who haven’t grown up and live in their own little worlds. They become best friends, and then their parents decide to kick them out, because they are getting a divorce. They set up job interviews, but to no avail. Their lives are about to change, and they must grow up.

Group W4F which usually releases wrestling events pred a rip of British TV documentary I’m Kylie’s Body Double, which aired on BBC few days ago. It’s basically a story about people working as doubles of world famous celebrities (not only Kylie). 57 minutes in 1 CD release.

Group 420RipZ released a whole bunch of internal dvdrips in last few hours and I’d like to mention this one: Jeff Dunham’s Spark Of Insanity is a fairly funny comedy show taped at Warner Theater in Washington D.C. Jeff Dunham’s show on Comedy Central needs no introduction for our American readers and this release offers twice as long footage full of gags, jokes and unexpected guests. Released as 1 CD rip with full screen resolution.

Ventriloquist Jeff Dunham’s second live-performance DVD, Spark of Insanity, is much funnier than his first, Arguing With Myself, perhaps because his new puppets allow him to cover more controversial territory beyond skits about family beefs and office humor. Though some puppets reappear, like the beloved Peanut, a purple monkey who loves wordplay, new characters emerge as the stars of this hour-long stand-up show. A tense laughter ripples through the audience, for example, when Dunham announces his wish to talk with a terrorist as he brings out Achmed the Dead Terrorist, a turban-sporting skeleton who’s refrain is “I will kill you!” Previous show star, Jose Jalapeño, a Mexican chili pepper on a stick, returns for a discussion about whether the puppet has a green card.

One of my favorite indie bands, Texas’ folk-tinged Okkervil River, have their new album, The Stand Ins, set for a release next month.  DV8, once again, coming through big time, brings it to us a month early.  I haven’t had a chance to listen to it, but I’ve loved their older works, and have extremely high hopes.  So check it out if you like your indie with a hard country/folk influence.

Okkervil River is an indie rock band from Austin, Texas. Formed in 1998, the band takes its name from a short story by Russian author Tatyana Tolstaya. They self-released their first album, Stars Too Small to Use, which led them to the South by Southwest music festival. After recording their first album in a garage, they signed with Jagjaguwar. Okkervil River continued by releasing two more albums, including concept album Black Sheep Boy, which landed them critical praise.
